Outdoor Evergreen
Bonsai Tree

A beautiful ungrafted Japanese White Pine (Pinus Parviflora) bonsai tree. One of the most popular evergreen species to be used as bonsai. This tree was imported from Japan in 2019 and is very healthy and growing well. JWP love lots of sun and prefer to be kept on the drier side. These ungrafted white Pines tend to have a much more natural looking trunk and root flare. This tree is no exception. It has fantastic old craggy bark that adds age to the tree. The pictures don't do this tree much justice. With some light wiring this tree will instantly transform into a great looking bonsai worthy of a spot on any bench. Ungrafted White Pines need to be worked on a little more gently so waiting until this tree has adjusted to it's new climate and is growing well should benefit the tree.

The tree sits about 68cm above its pot and is about 40cm wide. The nebari measures about 15cm at it's widest point. The pot measures 33x28x6.5cm

Due to the nature of this tree it is available for collection ONLY. Please contact us for more details.

Cultivation Notes

- This Outdoor bonsai tree needs to be placed outside all year round. It needs the cold of winter to become dormant and have a rest period.

- This bonsai likes to be kept a little drier than some other species. Allow pot to dry somewhat between watering and never keep too wet.

- This is an evergreen bonsai meaning it doesn't shed all of its leaves during the winter months.

- September / October White Pine Bonsai shed previous years needles. They turn yellow and fall. this is perfectly normal and a good tine to give the bonsai tree a clean up. Only worry if needles on the tips of branches turn yellow! Previous years needles are further back on the branches.

 - This bonsai is frost hardy
